In the Wake of the Floods, Our Hearts Are With Texas

Texans are no strangers to hardship, but the devastation caused by the recent floods has been beyond heartbreaking. As rivers rose, families were forced to flee their homes with little more than the clothes on their backs. Lives have been lost. Communities have been torn apart. And the road to recovery will be long and painful.
Our thoughts are with every person who has suffered loss—whether of a loved one, a home, or the sense of safety in our communities. The images from across the state are a stark reminder of nature’s power and our shared vulnerability.
But they also remind us of something else: the strength of the human spirit. First responders are still working around the clock. Neighbors are helping neighbors. Strangers are opening their doors to those with nowhere else to go. It’s in these moments of darkness that Texas shines the brightest.
As we look to the days ahead, the work of rebuilding must begin—not just homes and roads, but lives, hope, and stability. That means bringing people together to clear debris, provide aid, and invest in smart, resilient infrastructure that can help mitigate future disasters. It means supporting those leading recovery efforts, and it means not turning away once the water recedes.
Texans for Clean Water stands in solidarity with every flood-affected community. Our mission—cleaner, safer waterways—is rooted in the same commitment to protecting our people, our economy, and our environment. Today, that commitment is personal.
We are praying for Texas. And we are ready to help however we can.
